The 30th of September 2009
“New Racism, is that even a word?” was my first thought when I saw the headlines in today’s newspaper. Of course I’ve heard about New Nazism, but this word was unknown to me. And so was it to Wikipedia.
But still, a man named Majoran Vivekananthan dared to use it against the Norwegian government.
I’m not thrilled with the new government, even though they are better than the other options, so I feel no special urge to defend them what so ever. But this triggered something in me. I get an urge to defend anything against such an unjustifiably assertion.
Not only is a part of the interview based on manipulated facts, and not only are the arguments childish. On the top of it all, the allegation he throws, which is quite strong, doesn’t even hit close to home.
In his article can I find four arguments, and few of them can I consider as rational. Actually, there is none I can consider as rational. And if that wasn’t enough, he even manages to speak against himself.
One of the most important topics in both this, and every other Champaign I can remember, was integrating of immigrants. According to his first argument is that wrong. We should not focus on integrate immigrants that hard, because that would take away some of their original culture.
Of course they should be allowed to keep their culture, but it is quite obvious that they have to sacrifice something. Example in Somalia is women inferior. If she gives birth to a male baby will he the second he opens his eyes have control over her. He can hit her, disobey her and insult her whenever he wants. There is also acceptable, even normal, with dominant affairs and violent homes. This is not acceptable, nor normal, in Norway, and I would say that we are fully justified when we erase this part from the culture they have brought in. I also think that we are fully justified when we try to stop parents from forcing their daughters to wed against their will.
Vivekananthan also points out that the government hasn’t done anything to help the immigrants keep their language.
In the reality everyone, except Vivekananthan, lives in is the problem totally opposite. It is much more important that they learn our language. How can they get good jobs without being able to understand their coworkers or their boss? How can they find interest in politics when they can’t understand the newspapers? I could continue this rant forever.
For the love of all that’s holy, let them keep their language, but that is secondary and will have to wait until we’ve managed to teach everyone Norwegian. Is it only I who see how off the field this is?
Let me give an example:
I decided that I wanted to move to Portugal, but when I came there, I didn’t understand anything. My English was rather bad and I couldn’t talk Portuguese even if you paid me. But when they tried to teach me their language, I threw a fit and accused them for being New Racists. What should the poor government do? Make everyone in Portugal learn Norwegian?
That was one argument. Number two is based on manipulated facts.
For some years ago came a statistic. It said that immigrants were more true to the laws than the people who were born here originally. That might be right. We are worse when it comes to sneaking at the bus, fooling the taxes, driving too fast etc. But when it comes to rape, drugs, violence, criminality in cliques etc. is it a majority of immigrants. I think everyone agrees with me when I say that is a bit more serious than sneaking on the bus. I’m not writing this because I want to put myself in a good light, I’m simply stating a fact.
Here is the third argument. “The parties have stopped to correct FRP when they say loose allegations and twisted facts”
First of all, who is he to criticize anyone about loose allegations and twisted facts when he arguments like this?
Secondly, I’m not denying that FRP are what he calls “New Racists”. But I haven’t noticed that the three parties our government consists of have stopped correcting FRP, and they certainly haven’t agreed. This is a childish argument, and should be considered as rubbish. Just because I have given up correcting everyone that has a different option than me, doesn’t make me agree with them.
And in the forth argument he manages to speak against himself. He says that it was terrible of SV to negotiate their politics about integrations away for the advantage of global warming. Didn’t he just say that we shouldn’t focus so much on integration? Then what is the problem?
So I asked myself why he bothers to create such a scene with those ridiculous arguments. I only managed to come up with two conclusions.
1. He is painting a picture of himself as the victim, and is hoping to gain benefit from that.
2. He is caught up in how unfair the society is against him, and doesn’t manage to see longer than the tip of his nose.
What do you think is the reason?

Ps: If anyone calls me a Racist after reading this post, I think I’m going to choke to death on my own anger. Racism detest me, I can’t imagine anything worse that you can call me. I wish to make it clear that I’m a member in various organizations that supports anti-racism. Any comment like that will be deleted.

Hello everyone out there!
The 30th of September 2009
My first official blog. I can’t say I’m not excited.
Just to make things clear, this is not going to be a diary. The main topics are going to be important things that happens, or have happened, in the world. Not about how I murdered my neighbor or what I ate for dinner. Also, I’m not going to edit anything to avoid people’s wrath. I will write my posts freely. That’s why you should stay clear if easily offended. Neither am I going to promise a clean language. I won’t swear often, but it might appear.
If you disagree with anything, feel free to say it and create a discussion. But it has to be a discussion, not a fight without arguments, where you end up insulting the other person. It would be very typical me to break my own rule a good amount of times, so just correct me instead of taking me as an example and do so yourself.
Pardon my English, it’s not my main language.
